Platform Fee

2%

of every booking's rental subtotal. That's it.

What renters pay

  • Rental cost — set by the kit owner (per day, per week, or per month).
  • 2% platform fee — calculated on the rental subtotal.
  • Refundable deposit (optional) — only if the owner requires one. Authorized on your card and returned in full once the owner confirms the kit was returned in good condition.

Your card is authorized for the full amount (rental + fee + deposit) at booking. The rental + fee are captured when the owner accepts. The deposit is released after a successful return.

What owners receive

  • 98% of the rental subtotal — paid out after the booking is completed.
  • Set your own rates — daily, weekly, or monthly pricing.
  • Optional deposit — choose any amount, or none at all.
  • No listing fees — list as many kits as you want, free.

Cancellations

  • 24+ hours before the booking start: renter receives a full refund. No fee.
  • Less than 24 hours before start: a 50% no-show fee is charged. The owner is paid their share of that fee (less the 2% platform fee).
  • Owner declines a request: the authorization is released in full. No charge.

Damage & deposit claims

If the owner reports damage on return, all or part of the deposit may be retained to cover repairs. Renters are notified before any deposit is withheld. Disputes are reviewed by RentMyDrums support.

Payment processing

Payments are handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor. RentMyDrums does not store card details. Standard processor fees are absorbed by RentMyDrums and are not charged separately to renters or owners.
